Autores ResumoWinter has arrived, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, and the summer has departed for the south and now you are reading the 4th issue of the IWJ for 2005. Where does time go! By the time you read this editorial, 2005 will have come and gone, leaving us to contemplate 2006 and a new calendar of meetings. If your calendar is anything like mine, one meeting blends into another, lasting the whole year long! In this the 4th issue of Volume 2 of the IWJ, we continue our topical and geographical diversity, as outlined by our Editor-in-Chief. In recent issues we have broadened our clinical areas to include burns; we have also recently published major reviews in other clinical areas. In this issue we include articles on vasculitis, diabetes, wound chronicity, scalp necrosis, finger-tip grafting, Eikinella corrodens, hydrojet debridement and wound therapy with hydrofiber dressings. In 2005 wound care has seen many successful meetings: SAWC(San Diego); EWMA/ETRS(Stuttgart); Wounds UK(Harrogate) and CAWC(Montreal), to name but a few. We also increased our knowledge base through the addition of a new national journal (Wounds UK) and of course through the continued efforts of existing journals, including the IWJ. The IWJ family is pleased with the progress of the Journal to date, but encourage our entire readership to help us make it better. If you feel that you have comments to make or have a desire to publish your valuable research then please consider the IWJ as a vehicle for publication. Please submit it through our usual address: submissions@internationalwoundjournal.com. Similarly, as always, we encourage letters. If you feel strongly about something then please put pen to paper. If you have an idea of something you wish to see included in the IWJ then let us know! We would be pleased to hear from you through our personal e-mail addresses: editorinchief@internationalwoundjournal.com; and editor@internationalwoundjournal.com. Similar to last year we include our end of year index to help with searching for specific articles or authors. We recognise that for a journal to be successful in addition to having a strong subscriber base, it needs to be accessed on electronic referencing systems. The IWJ is already listed on CINAHL and we have submitted an application for inclusion on Medline. Our application is to be considered early next year and we remain optimistic that we may have this by spring. This will be a significant milestone for the IWJ and we look forward to a successful listing. All that remains for me is to wish everyone an enjoyable holiday season and to be the first to wish you a happy and successful 2006!
