Resumo

A one dimensional diffusion model has been developed to explain the potential dependence of dye sensitized photocurrents at semiconductor electrodes. Use of this model yields predictions for the role of image charge forces, back reactions, and surface defects in current production by excited dye molecules at semiconductor surfaces. Results of these calculations are compared with data from dye-semiconductor systems which are known to exhibit nearly ideal behavior.
