Resumo

In the presence of 2-thiouracil, the increase in β-galactosidase activity is inhibited to a greater extent than the corresponding protein assayed immunologically. It seems that the protein synthesized in the presence of the analogue loses some of its enzymic sites. It is suggested that this is a consequence of thiouracil incorporation into RNA templates or eventually into S-RNA.
