Although its cause remains unclear, ITP is associated with several diseases, including infections (5-8).Helicobacter pylori, a gram-negative bacterium, is a frequent cause of upper gastrointestinal tract infection (9). Of interest, the presence of the cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA), an important determinant of pathogenicity, is associated with greater gastric mucosal immune responses (9).Objective: In a previous study, we described increasing platelet counts in patients with ITP 4 months after eradication of CagA-positive H. pylori infection ...References1.
