Resumo

Applying an image dissector for measurements with high precision as in spectrometry it is necessary to eliminate or control disturbances of the magnetic fields for deflection and focusing. It is demonstrated how disturbances from external fields are eliminated by specially designed shielding of the tube and its coil assembly. Magnetic disturbances originated from memory effects are reduced by making the remanence field equal before each individual measurement. This is achieved by applying a sequence of strongly varied magnetic fields.
