Abstract New BVK photometry and radial velocities from high-resolution spectroscopy are presented for the metal-rich ab-type RR Lyrae star SW Andromedae. These data, along with previously published optical data, are used to derive the distance and absolute magnitudes of this star, employing the IR surface brightness version of the Baade-Wesselink method. These results are compared with other recent applications of the Baade-Wesselink method, and they are found to agree to within 0.10 mag when the appropriate phase intervals are considered.
