Resumo

Abstract The paper deals with a class of bearings called self adjusting hydrodynamic bearings. The construction of these bearing is such that the bearing clearance adjusts itself depending upon the speed. This feature improves the performance of the bearing. These bearings have preloading facility also. The constructional features and working mechanism of these bearings are presented along with brief design procedures.
