ResumoBefore turning to these impressions, it is necessary to turn to Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian by birth who helped to found the first Waldorf School, giving shape and form to this educational approach. Relatively unknown in the United States, Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) lived most of his life in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Listed among his accomplishments are editing Goethe's scientific works, founding the philosophical movement known as Anthroposophy, and founding the Waldorf School movement (1).
