Vegetarians, although abstaining from meat and fish, do eat dairy products and drink milk but generally do not become deficient in vitamin B12 (2). However, a correlation has been shown between amount of animal products in the diet and serum vitamin B12 levels in Seventh-Day Adventists (3).
