ResumoAbstract In Fahrenheir 451 Ray Bradbury creates an unthinking society so compulsively hedonistic that it must be atom-bombed flat before it ever can be rebuilt. Bradbury's clearest suggestion to the survivors of America's third atomic war "started … since 1990" (73) is "to build a mirror factory first and put out nothing but mirrors … and take a long look in them" (164).
