Between 1980 and 1992 the numbers of Cory's Shearwaters Calonectris diomedea borealis of Selvagem Grande Island (30°09'N, 15°52'W) have shown a twofold increase and some of their demographical parameters have changed. The faithfulness to mate and to nest‐site have greatly decreased. The temporary interruptions of breeding have increased. On the other hand, the breeding success and the age of first breeding have remained constant. Finally, the adult annual survival has shown a decrease. However, it is possibly an artefact.
