ResumoAn ultrasonic photolytic method was described for preparing adducts of hexafluorobutadiene and methyl disulfide. In the presence of an excess CH3SSCH3, the major product was trans-1,4-bis(methylthio)hexafluoro-2-butene. The minor products were the 1:2 adducts (CH3SSCH3·2C4F6) in the presence of a mixture, which consisted of a small amount of other oligomeric mixtures and isomeric 1:1 adducts.
