The energy loss of a slow charged particle in a semidegenerate plasma is calculated using analytical approximations. Previous results obtained by various authors are compared with these calculations. An analytical expression describes the stopping power for low velocities, over a wide range of plasma densities and temperatures. The description applies from the cold limit of solid state plasmas to the hot and dilute extreme of Tokamak plasmas.
