Resumo

Magnetic, X-ray and the Mössbauer effect measurements have been made on Mn 1- x Fe x AlGe compounds for 0 ≤ x ≤0.10. All of the compounds were single phase and chemically ordered intermetallic compounds with Cu 2 Sb type structure. Over the whole concentration range, the Fe atoms were located at two different crystallographic sites and there was no magnetic moment either at site I and site II. The Mössbauer spectra did not show the Goldanskii-Karyagin effect in spite of having two dimensional exchange interaction in MnAlGe. The results are discussed in relation to the previous investigation.
