ResumoAbstract The seasonal pattern of condition index, carbohydrate, lipid, petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons in mussels of the Laguna Veneta (North‐East Italy) was studied during 1978. Condition index, carbohydrate and lipid showed a marked annual cycle fairly common to most mussel populations. Tissue concentrations of lipophilic pollutants, though showing some correspondance with lipid content, did not correlate with physiological parameters.
