ResumoAbstract Several hetera-p-carbophanes containing two amide groups in the ansa chain were synthesized by the highdilution method. Those which have shorter ansa chains than 15 atoms show no sign of the internal rotation of the benzene ring, even at higher temperatures, whereas that which has the ansa chain of 16 atoms shows no sign of the freezing of the motion, even at lower temperatures. The infrared spectra of these compounds suggest that the amide groups in these compounds exist as the s-cis conformation.
