The authors carried out an nvestigative mission to San Salvador between 20th October and 3rd November 1986, under the auspices of the Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Team (EEFIT). The mission was funded by Rendel Palmer & Tritton and the Science and Engineering Research Council.
