Resumo

CuO nanoparticles have been synthesized by the hydrothermal route using two different organometallic and inorganic precursors of copper acetylacetonate [Cu(C5H7)2:Cu(AA)2] and hydrated copper nitrate [Cu(NO3)2.3H2O], respectively. Detailed structural and vibrational studies have been carried out using x‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopic techniques. The appearance of a Raman peak at 218 cm−1 has been observed only in the CuO nanostructures synthesized using Cu(AA)2 as precursor. The possible origin of the observed mode has been investigated in details.
