Resumo

The Lost City meteorite has been classified as a type H5 chondrite on the basis of its bulk chemical composition, its mineralogy, and its petrography. Chemical analyses were done on magnetic and nonmagnetic fractions, which were separately analyzed by a combination of atomic absorption and classical gravimetric, colorimetric, and titrametric procedures. Thin sections were examined microscopically and with the electron microprobe to complete the description and classification of the meteorite as an equilibrated olivine-bronzite chondrite.
