The nature of globulins in the spontaneous precipitates that appear in refrigerated rheumatoid sera were studied and certain characteristics and the components of such precipitates were compared with those induced by aggregated gamma globulin. Qualitative similarities in the gamma globulin components were observed although the components of the spontaneous precipitates differed somewhat. Hypotheses concerning the gamma globulin precipitates of rheumatoid sera are presented.
