ResumoMuch has been made of the need to put the product of medical research into the bag of the practitioner. The exercise of his profession, it is widely maintained, should be constantly molded by the new information that is being delivered in such relentless abundance. Hardly ever mentioned, however, is a need equally important for the doctor: that of adapting his attitude and work to the mass of non-knowledge, to the often overpublicized uncertainties of the times.Theoretically, non-knowledge and controversy should not fluster the physician.
