This article contributes the results of the prolongation of a previous study, in order to observe the evolution experienced on the development of the tourism on the City of Federation, province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. A contribution sought to realize to the knowledge respect of the existing relation between the tourism and the local development from the emergence of initiatives and implementation of policies and strategies of development. The hypothesis affirms that the tourism is an activity that he contributes to the local development of small cities. This stage this of the study understood between the year 2000 and 2009. There was analyzed his socioeconomic impact relative to the employment, the business and investments, and there was born in mind the contribution reflected in the benefits that it caused, especially in the resident population. In synthesis, the investigation places in the thematic area of the local development on the figure of tourist center, and analyzed from the theory called of the tourist system.
