Resumo

SUMMARY Inclusion bodies in the cells of the leaf epidermis of dahlia plants infected with dahlia mosaic virus are spherical and highly refractive. They stain with trypan blue or phloxine, and this staining provides a quick and simple test for the detection of dahlia mosaic virus in dahlia plants, which is particularly useful for varieties that do not show external symptoms.
