ResumoAs i write this editorial, only 24 hours have passed since terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, DC. These events have created images that are now imprinted in our memories. September 11, 2001, is a day in world history that will be remembered forever. There are few among us who have not been touched or traumatized by this senseless tragedy. Life is so precious. In the blink of an eye, we become vulnerable to all that is removed from our control. As our nation and the world struggles to understand how this could happen, the reality is—it has happened. Now, we are moved to find peace, hope, and resolve in circumstances beyond our comprehension. One step at a time, one day at a time, is the only way to begin to pick up the pieces and reconnect to the values that are deep in our spirits and our souls as individuals, families, communities, and citizens of this great nation we call Home.
