ResumoBinary synchronous communications, in particular the line-control functions, are described. These functions are independent of the devices transmitting and receiving, the mode of transmission, and the transmission code. A mode known as transparent transmission allows the transmission of data, independent of its bit structure. The various aspects of transmission are discussed, including station control, transmission formating, error detection, and error recovery. In addition, the communication control characters are described in detail.
