and me, and arising from this a committee was formed, with myself as chairman, to conduct a trial on the efficacy of B.C.G. in Britain.Daniels was its first secretary, and was co-ordinator of the trial during its intake and for the first year of its follow-up until his death in 1953.Marc Daniels's interests in epidemiology and in the applica- tion of statistics in tuberculosis research were far-reaching.As a contributor to the conception, design, and development of this vaccines study he was able to bring his talents to bear with great effect.He would have been fascinated by the results and their implications, and would, we may be sure, have helped to improve the quality and depth of work in this field.The subject of this lecture is highly appropriate as a tribute
