Resumo

The Silvana Lake is a natural ecosystem, located in the Rio Doce Valley (42°28’48” W and 19°29’00” S), eastern Minas Gerais state. It covers 400 hectares of surface, maximum depth of 14.8 m, surrounded by a fragment of Atlantic forest in secondary succession and a Eucalyptus plantation. In this study, an inventory of the aquatic vegetation was made. A list of 56 species of aquatic macrophytes, distributed into 35 botanical families, Cyperaceae and Onagraceae, being most representative with 6 spp. each, is presented. All biological forms were found in the study area, where the epiphytes, present in floating islands, predominated with 71,4% of the species.
