The Ruben and Kamen experiments (1941) in school text books, Babacar Gueye Most biology textbooks of the two senior levels of high schools refer to the Ruben and Kamen experiments. After studying the way these are presented and used for didactical purposes, we show that they contain errors of content and reasoning. We then raise the question, from this example, of a better use of the history of science in biology teaching.
