Briefly, the study consisted of fitting a straight line of the form log N = log A + B log D to crater size-frequency data based on telescopically observable craters. In this expression N is the cumulative number of craters per unit area having diameter greater than D, and A and B are parameters determined by least squares regression. It was found that the value of B was in the vicinity of −;1.6 for both the maria and the highlands, whereas the value of A depended on the units used and the region considered. When N is the cumulative number of craters per 10 km2 having diameter greater than D meters, the distribution was found to be References McGillem, C. D., B. P.
