Resumo

Hand-reared blue and coal tits show differences in (a) locomotion and feeding on cut oak and scots pine branches, (b) ability to obtain food while hanging upside-down, (c) the extent to which they hover to obtain stationary food items, (d) ability to catch flying insects, (e) feeding skills on artificial feeding sites. These differences, some of which also occur between wild members of the two species, appear to be genetic in origin.
