The objective of this article is to bring to the polytical and academic debate, the questions of unemployment, precarious job and lack of citizen rights in the Manaus Free Zone, having as a reference the research made in the years 1999-2000, on workers fired from industries of the Industrial District.The results of the research show that the transformations on the production process was responsible for the unemployment, and that the unemployed workers were forced to accept many kinds of precarious works.It shows also that this serious social problem is not a local problem, but a local expression of the modern capitalism in his worldwide fase.
