ResumoStreptococcus suis infection, an important zoonotic occupational disease in humans, is associated with meningitis, arthritis, and perceptive deafness. We report a case of severe S. suis infection in a previously healthy man who developed purpura fulminans and rhabdomyolysis, complications not previously reported with this disease.
