ResumoMatters of state: Highly ordered TiO2−xNx nanotubes selectively doped with atomic N states instead of molecular N2 states (see picture) result in an enhanced energy-storage performance for Li ions. N-doped nanotubes maintain the anatase structure of pure TiO2 if nitrogen doping levels are small.
