ResumoAbstractUseful statistical and genetic parameters were developed in 49 germplasm collections of senna obtained from different states of India. Genetic variability was high for pod and seed yields but moderate for leaf yield. Broad sense heritability was also high for all traits except number of branches. The three important traits. viz., dry leaf yield, dry pod yield and seed yield manifested high h2BS coupled with high GA and the latter two traits were favourably correlated as well. hence most amenable for straight selection. Potentially superior parents were also identified for genetic improvement of senna.
