Resumo

By a combination of chemical, 1H and 13C NMR, and mass spectrometric studies, two alternative structures for Moroidin, from Laportea moroides, have been elucidated. Moroidin, which may be responsible at least in part for the toxicity of Laportea moroides, is a tricyclic octapeptide containing an unusual C-N linkage between tryptophan and histidine residues.
