ResumoThe intertidal zonation of the dominant algal species in Beer Bay, south-east Devon, was examined in relation to substratum by means of plane-table maps and transects. The dominance of Ulva lactuca on colonies of the reef-building worms Sabellaria alveolata was noted, but the distributions of Fucus vesiculosus, F. serratus, Gigartina stellata and Enteromorpha spp. showed no correlation with substratum.
