Resumo

In this article we bring the discussion of Rafael Capurro on the “social paradigm” of Information Science with recent advances in information users studies. As a result of this dialogue, we propose the development of an “interactionist approach” to the field. The feasibility of such a proposal is discussed and evaluated based on the examination of search results from five master thesis discussed with categories and concepts of authors linked to interactionist and socio-cultural approaches in Information Science and in the humanities and social sciences.
