ResumoIntroduction: There is considerable evidence for the efficacy of physical activity, diet and weight loss interventions in improving health behaviours and health outcomes for cancer survivors, but very limited uptake of such interventions into clinical or population health practice. Healthy Living after Cancer (HLaC) is an evidence-based, telephone-delivered lifestyle program targeting physical activity, healthy eating and weight control among cancer survivors following treatment. This paper describes the process of translating the HLaC intervention into practice in collaboration with state-based Cancer Councils and a team of multidisciplinary Australian and international scientists; it also outlines the implementation and evaluation plan for this national study.
