Production of top quarks via vector-boson fusion in e + e − collisions

ResumoThe production of top quarks at an ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider with a center-of-mass energy of 2 TeV is discussed. Production cross sections for vector-boson fusion processes are calculated using the effective-boson approximation. Included are $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$, $\mathrm{WW}$, $\ensuremath{\gamma}Z$, and $\mathrm{ZZ}$ fusion production of top-quark pairs and production of $t\ensuremath{-}\overline{b}$ pairs by $\ensuremath{\gamma}W$ and $\mathrm{ZW}$ fusion. The cross sections for top-quark production from the interactions of beamstrahlung photons are presented.
