ResumoThe work that Robert Hooke performed for the Royal Society over a period of forty years is well known. His many inventions and experiments have been the subject of numerous papers and there are few standard scientific works which do not record some aspect of his achievements, The fact that he was surveyor to the City of London after the Great Fire is also recorded, but it is not generally appreciated that he was an architect of no mean ability.
