Resumo

Two cases of atypical myeloproliferative disorder with monosomy of of a group C chromosome are described, which, to our best knowledge, are the first report of autopsied cases occurring in siblings. Discussions are made mainly on the role of the group C chromosome in homeostatic control of hematopoiesis, with a short review of previously reported cases of similar or related conditions. Appearance of relatively small megakaryocytes, with more or less decreased amount of PAS positive materials in their cytoplasm and vague platelet demarcation membrane, in our cases is also mentioned, which seemed to be responsible for clinically detected thrombocytopenia, to some extent.
