ResumoAbstract – The occurrence in oral submucous fibrosis of small raised blue spots has not been reported. This feature was observed in nine (22%) of 40 submucous fibrosis cases diagnosed in the Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. None of the patients complained of bleeding from the spots or from elsewhere, nor was there any history of systemic disorders. Histologically, the lesions could be explained by juxtaepithelial, endorthelial‐lined luminae containing erythrocytes and the presence of juxta‐ and intraepithclial petechial homorrhages.
