Die asymmetrische Aminierung eines cyclischen fünfgliedrigen β-Ketoesters ist nützlich zur Herstellung eines Schlüsselintermediats bei der Synthese des Aldosereduktase-Inhibitors AS-3201 (Ranirestat).
