espanolEl articulo versa sobre la labor educativa desarrollada por la Instruccion Primaria en Los Santos de Maimona entre 1857, fecha de promulgacion de la denominada Ley Moyano, y principios del siglo XX, anos de fundacion del Ministerio de Instruccion Publica o Educacion Nacional. Momento de transito entre los tradicionales sistemas educativos y las novedades aportadas por la reforma legal del sistema educativo, en el que el principal objetivo marcado por la Administracion local y regional fue la abolicion del analfabetismo en la provincia. Para ello, nuestra investigacion parte de estudios precedentes en la materia, si bien aporta fuentes documentales todavia no investigadas como son las anotaciones existentes al respecto en el Archivo Universitario de Sevilla, a cuyo distrito pertenecio Los Santos de Maimona en este periodo. EnglishThe article turns on the educative work developed by the Primary Instruction in Los Santos de Maimona between 1857, date of promulgation of the so called Law Moyano, and the begining of the twentieth century, years of foundation of the Ministry of Public Instruction or National Education. That is the moment of transition between the traditional educative systems and the new features contributed by the legal reform of the educative system, in which the main objective for the local and regional Administration was the abolition of the illiteracy in the province. For this reason, our investigation part of preceding studies about the matter, although still contributes not investigated documentary sources as they are the existing annotations on the matter in the Archives of the University of Seville, whose district belonged Los Santos de Maimona in that period.
