ResumoSummaryTwo strains of virus, isolated in 1954 from forest mosquitoes in Trinidad, B.W.I., have been shown by reciprocal cross-neutralization tests to be strains of Ilhéus virus. Both strains produce a hemagglutinating antigen, similar in reactivity to the antigen produced from the known Ilhéus strain. These isolations represent the second and third times the virus has been found in nature.
