ResumoWe read with interest the article ‘Modifications to the C–V flap for nipple reconstruction’ by O’Neil and Goodwin-Walters in the April JPRAS (Vol. 63, e418–9). 1 O’Neil J.K. Goodwin-Walters A. Modifications to the C-V flap for nipple reconstruction. We have found that the use of a dermal platform helps prevent loss of projection in the reconstructed nipple, with good long term results. The ‘star flap’ design was first described by Anton and Hartrampf in 1991. 2 Anton M.A. Eskenazi L.B. Hartrampf C.R. Nipple reconstruction with local flaps: star and wrap around flaps.
