ResumoElectronic sensors in diagnostic radiology are gradually replacing radiographic film. The advantages of this new technology include a lower radiation dose to the patient, an almost instantaneous availability of images without the need for chemical film processing, and the possibility of image enhancement and computer-aided feature extraction. Digital radiography is a promising technology, opening the door to new diagnostic procedures not available with traditional film-based imaging.
