Resumo

The archives of Emile Meyerson, an epistemologist (1859-1933), bring to light his friendship with Bernard Lazare (1865-1903), a man of letters and the first defender of Dreyfus. Built up in the literary circles of Paris during the 1880s, this friendship was carried on about Jewish matters : affaire Dreyfus, Palestine, the problems of the Jews in Eastern Europe, without forgetting the figure of Herzl. Due to their trustful relationship, Lazare entrusts Meyerson with the task to have Le Fumier de Job published, which he considers as his intellectual will, but which he cannot bring to an end because of his illness. However, it cannot be asserted that Meyerson carried out his commitment. Le Fumier de Job was published twenty five years after Bernard Lazare’s death.
