Well-defined pendellösung fringe systems, line defects radiating from the seed crystal, and “granular” structures have been observed. The extinction distance for a given reflection has been calculated from the fringe spacing and compared with the value derived from the structure factor. The line defects are shown to be grown-in dislocations whose character and Burgers vector have been determined in some cases. An explanation is suggested for the “granular” structures. References 1 P. M.
