ResumoPhysiopathologic methods of production of experimental gastric ulcers, such as Mann-Williamson ulcer in dogs! and Shay ulcerations in rats,2 are valuable tools in investigation of pathogenesis of peptic ulcer. The purpose of this presentation is to draw attention to a method of ulcer production which appears useful in studies of factors affecting the healing process of gastric ulcer, including the connective tissue repair and the regeneration of gastric mucosa. This method might be also useful in studies of the effects of growth promoting and inhibiting factors on the induction of gastric neoplasms.
